Honoring diversity means involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc. Inclusion is acknowledging and appreciating the reality and value of diversity, embracing the spectrum of different identities and experiences, and respecting what each person brings to the table. Diversity of thought and inclusion of different perspectives can help us generate new ideas, enhance problem solving, and increase flexibility, creativity, and effectiveness of therapy.

It is necessary to acknowledge cultural differences between clients and counselors to gather the critical information necessary for meaningful connection and growth. We welcome folks of all backgrounds, including but not limited to people from groups in need of increased social equity (e.g., racial/cultural oppression, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities). All therapy services are provided to clients on an equal basis, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, and other non-medically relevant factors.
